Overview
If you have a store front, retail area, or walk in business, ePDS/Counter for ePDS integrates the counter sale operation with all other functionality provided in ePDS. ePDS/Counter may be used with or without a mouse, works with touch screens, supports functions keys, scans barcode labels, supports various receipt printers and provides integrated credit card processing (needs eCC module).
ePDS/Counter handles all processing related to an order: customer credit checking, inventory management, invoicing, accounting, and returns.
Details
ePDS/Counter is extremely flexible. Simple orders may be entered for walk-in business where you may not wish to record customer information. Or, complex orders may be entered that have many order lines where some items are picked up now, some later, and some may be shipped to the customer location. ePDS/Counter works with ePDS pricing rules to provide automated and accurate pricing. ePDS/Counter supports sales tax, Canadian PST and GST, and European VAT. Also, just like ePDS, ePDS/Counter allows for the entry of other charges for things such as extra shipping charges, documentation fees, engineering charges, etc.
Returns or credit orders are also provided for with ePDS/Counter. When returns are made using ePDS/Counter, the system may be configured to either return to goods to general or discrepant inventory.
ePDS/Counter checkout is also flexible. Goods may be paid for in a variety of ways:
- Debit or Credit Card: Several cards may be setup such as American Express, Visa, Master Card, etc.
- On Account, for customers that have credit terms established
Also, for any single order, several payment methods may be used to pay for the order.
For goods to be picked up at some later time or to be shipped to the customer, a deposit (pre-payment) may be taken against the order.
For credit orders or returns, there are several options available for refund or credit:
- Void customer’s original check
- Write a manual refund check to the customer and record manual check information into system
- Issue credit to debit or credit card
- Issue credit to customer account
