ePDS/Ship enables and simplifies the integration of ePDS and third party shipping software, such as UPS Worldship or FedEx Ship Manager. Also, as third party shipping software is changed and updated, ePDS/Ship will stay up to date so that the integration remains intact.

The Problem

Periodically, the third party shipping software provider will update their software which may cause the ePDS integration to break. This means that the integration no longer works:

The shipment process will become difficult, error-prone, and time consuming.

Users will have to key in all or part of the information needed for shipping into the third party shipping software.

The broken integration may cause default values to be set incorrectly

The broken integration may cause shipping costs to be calculated incorrectly.

Shipment tracking numbers, shipment cost, and ship weight may have to be entered manually into ePDS.

To fix the integration may not be so simple. This means that the interface may be out-of-service for several days or weeks. And wasted hours will be consumed fixing it.

The Solution

ePDS/Ship provides a standard interface with the third party shipping software. The need to maintain custom mapping of data will be transferred to ePDS thus allowing a uniform and consistent interface to the third party shipping software. You will no longer need to manage any data within the third party shipping software.

When the third party software is updated, Axiom Software will develop and provide the updated interface. Your only requirement is that when you wish to update your shipping software you need to also update your ePDS/Ship interface.
